First-Time Setup

After installation, complete these initial setup steps:

1. Configure Metafields (Required)

Metafields store MTG-specific product data in Shopify (card number, rarity, mana cost, etc.).

  1. Go to the Settings tab
  2. Click on Metafield Setup
  3. Review the required metafields:
    • Card Number
    • Set Code
    • Set Name
    • Rarity
    • Mana Cost
    • Card Type
    • Power/Toughness
    • Finish (Foil/Nonfoil)
  4. Click Setup Metafields to create them in your Shopify store
  5. Wait for the setup to complete (usually 10-30 seconds)
  6. You'll see a green checkmark when metafields are ready

Why is this important? Without metafields, MTG-specific data won't be stored with your products.

Set up your pricing rules before your first sync:

  1. Go to the Settings tab
  2. Scroll to Pricing Configuration
  3. Configure these settings:
    • Global Markup: Default 1.3x (30% markup)
    • Price Threshold: Apply markup to cards above this price (default: $1.00)
    • Rounding: Round prices to 2 decimal places (e.g., $4.99)
    • Minimum Prices: Set floor prices by rarity
      • Rare: $0.50
      • Mythic: $1.00
      • Common/Uncommon: $0.25
  4. Click Save Pricing Configuration
