First-Time Setup
After installation, complete these initial setup steps:
1. Configure Metafields (Required)
Metafields store MTG-specific product data in Shopify (card number, rarity, mana cost, etc.).
- Go to the Settings tab
- Click on Metafield Setup
- Review the required metafields:
- Card Number
- Set Code
- Set Name
- Rarity
- Mana Cost
- Card Type
- Power/Toughness
- Finish (Foil/Nonfoil)
- Click Setup Metafields to create them in your Shopify store
- Wait for the setup to complete (usually 10-30 seconds)
- You'll see a green checkmark when metafields are ready
Why is this important? Without metafields, MTG-specific data won't be stored with your products.
2. Configure Pricing (Recommended)
Set up your pricing rules before your first sync:
- Go to the Settings tab
- Scroll to Pricing Configuration
- Configure these settings:
- Global Markup: Default 1.3x (30% markup)
- Price Threshold: Apply markup to cards above this price (default: $1.00)
- Rounding: Round prices to 2 decimal places (e.g., $4.99)
- Minimum Prices: Set floor prices by rarity
- Rare: $0.50
- Mythic: $1.00
- Common/Uncommon: $0.25
- Click Save Pricing Configuration
See Pricing Configuration for detailed pricing options.
3. Select Your First Sets
Choose which MTG sets to sync:
- Go to the Sync tab
- Browse available sets in the Set Selector
- Use the search bar to find specific sets (e.g., "Murders at Karlov Manor")
- Filter by release status:
- Released: Available now
- Preview: Upcoming sets with preview cards
- Coming Soon: Announced but not yet available
